The completed ring mount with the 8" f/4 Orion guide scope

The wooded rings were finished with Spar varnish. The underside was waxed to prevent it from sticking to the Obsession mirror box when mounted. Four 1/4" bolts were used to attach the base of the rings to the mirror box. Four 1/4 inch T-nuts were permanently mounted inside the mirror box to accept the bolts from above. This makes the guide scope mount removable. An adjustable block was added at the base of the guide scope to prevent it from slipping down when the scope is verticle. The guide scope rests on this block.
